The Subcommittee on Human Rights and International Development of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met in camera at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Paul DeVillers, presiding.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Hon. Navdeep Bains, Diane Bourgeois, Stockwell Day and Hon. Paul DeVillers.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Ed Broadbent for Joe Comartin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Marcus Pistor, Analyst.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in the future, the Subcommittee meet on Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.

 

It was agreed, — That, on Thursday, November 24, 2005 the Subcommittee hold a meeting on the topic of Cuba, during which the first hour be dedicated to hear officials from the Canadian International Development Agency and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (Foreign Affairs) and that during the second hour it proceed to a discussion amongst themselves on this subject-matter.

 

It was agreed, — That, on December 1st, the Subcommittee hear from the Honourable Pierre Pettigrew, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the Government response to the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade's report on Mining in Developing Countries—Corporate Social Responsibility.

 

At 3:52 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
