The Working Group on the LTVP and the Centre Block Rehabilitation met jointly in camera with the Senate Subcommittee on Long Term Vision and Plan on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in Room 0-35, West Block

Presiding: Chris d’Entremont, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, and the Honourable Senator Scott Tannas, Chair of the Subcommittee

SMUDGING AND QULLIQ

Josée Labelle presented proposals for dedicated Smudging and Qulliq spaces in Centre Block, and answered questions with Rob Wright, Michel Patrice and Susan Kulba.

It was agreed that a Smudging and Qulliq space be developed on level 4 of the Central Courtyard Infill in Centre Block to be shared by the Senate and the House of Commons.

CENTRAL COURTYARD INFILL

Susan Kulba presented a proposal for the allocation of space on levels 4 and 5 of the Central Courtyard Infill, and answered questions.

It was agreed that levels 4 and 5 of the Central Courtyard Infill be allocated for open collaboration spaces and meeting rooms to be fully shared by the Senate and the House of Commons.

SUSTAINABILITY

Jennifer Garrett and Rob Wright presented an update on the overall sustainability strategy for the Centre Block and Parliament Welcome Centre, and answered questions.

WASHROOM NOMENCLATURE

Josée Labelle presented a proposal to use common terminology to describe washrooms in the Centre Block Rehabilitation project.

It was agreed that “self-contained washroom units” would be used to describe washrooms in the Centre Block Rehabilitation project.

At 4:30 p.m., the meeting was adjourned.
