A meeting of the Working Group on the Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) and the Centre Block Rehabilitation was held in camera Friday, November 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in Room 035-B, West Block.

In the chair: Chris d’Entremont, Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons

Present: The Hon. Steven MacKinnon, Mrs. Kelly Block, Mr. Mark Gerretsen, Ms. Carol Hughes, Mr. Martin Shields, and Mr. Louis Plamondon

Also Present: Michel Patrice, Deputy Clerk, Administration; Susan Kulba, Director General and Chief Architect, Real Property; Thomas Mason, Senior Project Manager, Centre Block Program; Darrell de Grandmont, Director, Centre Block Program; Sylvie Chiasson, Senior Architect, Centre Block Program; Guillaume La Perrière, Director, Accessibility Implementation; Jennifer Garrett, Director General, Centre Block Program, Public Services and Procurement Canada; Rob Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Parliamentary Infrastructure Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada; Greg MacCormack, Senior Advisor, Office of the Clerk and Secretariat

ACCESSIBILITY

Guillaume La Perrière, Director, Accessibility Implementation, and Jennifer Garrett, Director General, Centre Block Program, Public Services and Procurement Canada, presented an update on the Accessibility Strategy for the rehabilitated Centre Block and new Parliament Welcome Centre and, with Rob Wright, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science and Parliamentary Infrastructure Branch, Public Services and Procurement Canada, answered questions.

CENTRAL COURTYARD INFILL (BRIDGE SPACES)

Susan Kulba, Director General and Chief Architect, Real Property, and Michel Patrice, Deputy Clerk, Administration, presented proposals for the allocation of levels 4 and 5 of the central courtyard infill, and took questions.

It was agreed that the allocation retained should maximize meeting space for the House of Commons and the Senate, and that this proposal be shared at the next joint meeting with the Senate LTVP subcommittee.

SMUDGING AND QULLIQ

Susan Kulba, Director General and Chief Architect, Real Property, presented a proposal on smudging and qulliq in the rehabilitated Centre Block and new Parliament Welcome Centre, and took questions.

It was agreed that this matter would be discussed at the next joint meeting with the Senate LTVP subcommittee, on November 18, 2022.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
