A meeting of the Board of Internal Economy of the House of Commons was held on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at 11:18 a.m., in Room 237-C, Centre Block.

MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

The minutes of the meeting of November 2, 2017, were adopted and approved for tabling.


BUSINESS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MEETING

The Board noted correspondence distributed since its last meeting.


PARLIAMENTARY PRECINCT LONG TERM VISION AND PLAN


Sustaining Information Technology Systems and Facility Assets

Stéphan Aubé presented a request to increase the baseline budget related to the Long Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) with additional funding for the operation, maintenance and life-cycling of building components and connectivity assets and, with Daniel G. Paquette, answered questions.

The Board approved the following funding:.

  1. Sustaining connectivity assets:

    a. Fiscal year 2018–2019: $9,031,561 + $2,232,003

    b. Fiscal year 2019–2020: $9,031,561 + $3,910,367

    c. Fiscal year 2020–2021: $9,031,561 + $5,457,279


  2. Sustaining component assets:

    a. Fiscal year 2018–2019: $3,119,214 + $6,389,185

    b. Fiscal year 2019–2020: $3,119,214 + $6,806,334

    c. Fiscal year 2020–2021: $3,119,214 + $6,949,819


2016–2017 ANNUAL REPORT ON COMMITTEE ACTIVITIES AND EXPENDITURES

The Honourable Judy Sgro, Chair of the Liaison Committee, presented the 2016–2017 annual report entitled Committee Activities and Expenditures, April 1, 2016 – March 31, 2017 and, with Eric Janse, answered questions..

In accordance with the provision of Standing Order 121(4), the Board agreed that the Speaker proceed with the tabling of the report in the House of Commons as soon as practicable.


REPORT TO CANADIANS 2017

Charles Robert presented the Report to Canadians 2017, which provides an update on Members’ activities and the House Administration’s accomplishments for fiscal year 2016–2017 in support of Members, and answered questions.

The Board agreed that the Speaker proceed with the tabling of the report in the House of Commons as soon as practicable.
