The Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met in a televised session at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, David Pratt, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Claude Bachand, Leon Benoit, Stan Dromisky, John O'Reilly, Janko Peric, David Pratt, David Price, Carmen Provenzano, Elsie Wayne and Bob Wood.
Other Member present: Dan McTeague.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner and Michel Rossignol, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of National Defence: Vice-Admiral Ron Buck, Chief of Maritime Staff; Commodore Jacques Gauvin, Assistant Chief of the Maritime Staff; Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Serge Joncas, Maritime Command.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the state of readiness of the Canadian Forces.
Vice-Admiral Buck made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
