The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met in a televised session at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Rodger Cuzner, Claude Duplain, Christiane Gagnon, Roger Gallaway, John Harvard, Betty Hinton, Wendy Lill, Clifford Lincoln and Grant McNally.
Acting Members present: Paul Macklin for Tony Tirabassi and Larry Bagnell for Paul Bonwick.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Joseph Jackson and Terrence Thomas, Research Officers, Consultant:.David Black
Witnesses: From the Communications Research Centre Canada: Dr. Gerry Turcotte, President; Dr. Metin Akgun, Vice President, Broadcast Technology Research; Gérald Chouinard, Program Manager, Rural and Remote Broadband Access. From the Digital Radio Roll-Out Inc.: Duff Roman, President; Ray Carnovale, Secretary; David Garforth, Executive Director. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System. (See Minutes of Proceeding, dated Thursday, November 8, 2001, Meeting No. 26).
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 11:07 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:53 a.m., the sitting resumed.
At 12:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
