On Tuesday, November 29, 2022, the committee adopted a motion that:

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the committee undertake a study of Canada’s electricity grid and network, to understand inter provincial tie-ins and gaps, opportunities, and challenges to improve electrical production and distribution across Canada; invite experts and government officials to provide testimony, and the committee hold no fewer than seven meetings for that purpose; and that the committee report its findings and recommendations to the House and that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

Pursuant to Standing Order 45, the House proceeded to the taking of the deferred recorded division on the motion of Mr. Wilkinson (Minister of Energy and Natural Resources), seconded by Ms. Martinez Ferrada (Minister of Tourism and Minister responsible for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec), — That Bill C-50, An Act respecting accountability, transparency and engagement to support the creation of sustainable jobs for workers and economic growth in a net-zero economy, be now read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Natural Resources.
