The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee resume its study on rail safety from the 43rd Parliament; that the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the second session of the 43rd Parliament on the subject be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session; and that the study conclude after a further two meetings of witness testimony.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Transport and Minister of Infrastructure and Communities to appear on the subject of their mandate letters, and that this meeting take place by February 17, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the committee adopt the report entitled "A Study of Aircraft Certification in Canada in Light of Two Incidents Involving Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302" adopted during the 2nd Session of the 43rd Parliament; that the report be now entitled: "A Study of Aircraft Certification in Canada in Light of Two Accidents Involving Lion Air Flight 610 and Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302"; that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request the government to table a comprehensive response to the report; that dissenting or supplementary opinions be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15th, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the committee adopt the report entitled “Emerging From the Crisis: A Study of the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Air Transport Sector” adopted during the 2nd Session of the 43rd Parliament; that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request the government to table a comprehensive response to the report; that dissenting or supplementary opinions be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 4 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15th 2022.

It was agreed, — That pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee study the state of Canada’s supply chain; in particular, how the Covid pandemic and climate change are impacting it; the state of container transport of products in Canada; and ways to protect and strengthen Canada’s supply chain infrastructure with a view to proposing solutions to make the supply chain more resilient.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resume the studies of the Canada Infrastructure Bank, and Targeted Infrastructure Investment from the 2nd Session of the 43rd Parliament; that the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the pervious session be taken into consideration by the committee; that no new meetings of witnesses be scheduled for these studies; that the members of the committee submit to the clerk their drafting instructions for the targeted infrastructure study by 4 p.m. Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee commenced its study of the aircraft certification process.
