The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the analysts draft a summary of the evidence heard on September 20, 21 and 22, 2016 during the testimony from the federal regional development agencies during the pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2017 budget.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the aforementioned summary of evidence in the House of Commons before the summer adjournment.

It was agreed, — That, once the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) completes its review of bank sales practices:

a) the FCAC appear before the Committee to present their findings;

b) if necessary, the six Schedule I banks also appear to demonstrate the measures they will take to implement any recommendations the FCAC may make.

It was agreed, — That, as part of the Committee's study of consumer protection and oversight in relation to Schedule I banks:

a) the analysts prepare a summary of the evidence heard thus far, to be distributed to the Members of the Committee;

b) that a news release be prepared by the analysts and the clerk, in consultation with the Chair, for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution.

It was agreed, — That notwithstanding the routine motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the clerk be allowed to distribute the briefs submitted for the Committee’s study of the pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2018 budget as they are received, in the language they are written, and that the translated version of each brief be distributed to Members as soon as it is available.

It was agreed, — That for the study of the pre-budget consultations in advance of the 2018 budget:

a) each party submit their list of witnesses to the clerk, in priority order for the hearings in Ottawa and in each of the nine Canadian cities the Committee will travel to, by 4 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017 at the latest;

b) following receipt of the list of witnesses from each party, the analysts provide the Committee with a supplementary witness list for the study;

c) the Chair write to the Members of Parliament from the nine cities where the Committee will meet to inform them of the Committee’s meeting schedule in their city.

At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
