Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, June 20, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of Indigenous women in the federal justice and correctional systems.

Darlene Shackelly, by videoconference from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Audra Andrews, by videoconference from Edmonton, Alberta, Lowell Carroll, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, Claudie Paul and Jacinthe Poulin made statements and answered questions.

At 4:50 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:53 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Marie-Claude Landry and Teresa Edwards made statements and, with Fiona Keith, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee study the Supplementary Estimates (C), 2017-18 and the Interim Estimates 2018-19, and that in relation to these studies, the Minister of Status of Women and relevant departmental officials be invited to appear on Thursday, March 1, 2018, or at the earliest opportunity.

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
