The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That members of the Daughters of the Vote be invited to brief the Committee on the topic of gender equality and the role of Equal Voice from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the briefing on gender equality and the role of Equal Voice, pursuant to the routine motion, adopted on Thursday, February 4, 2016, the Committee proceed under the rules of the reduced quorum.

At 9:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:44 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of challenges faced by senior women with a focus on the factors contributing to their poverty and vulnerability.

Krista James, by videoconference from Vancouver, British Columbia, made a statement and, with Gisèle Tassé-Goodman and Philippe Poirier-Monette, answered questions.

At 10:05 a.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

Madeleine Bélanger, by videoconference from Québec, Quebec, Gisèle Tassé-Goodman and Philippe Poirier-Monette answered questions.

At 10:21 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
