The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, notwithstanding the motion adopted on Thursday, March 9, 2017, a dissenting opinion be appended to the report entitled “The Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement: Benefits and Challenges for Canadians”.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the priorities of Canadian stakeholders having an interest in bilateral and trilateral trade in North America, between Canada, United States and Mexico, members of the Committee submit to the Clerk of the Committee, by Wednesday, April 5, 2017, at 12:00 p.m., their prioritized lists of witnesses.

It was agreed, — That the Committee defray the costs of hospitality arising from a working breakfast to be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 for a delegation of the Parliamentary Committee of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

At 4:22 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:24 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 20, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian steel industry’s ability to compete internationally.

Matthew Marchand, Huzaifa Saeed, Rory Ring, Kalyan Ghosh, Conrad Winkler, Roger Paiva and Michael McQuade made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee be authorized to make the necessary arrangements to provide working meals for the Committee on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, for a delegation of the Parliamentary Committee of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a working breakfast on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 with a delegation of the Parliamentary Committee of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA)..

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
