Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, December 5, 2016, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-311, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day).

The Committee commenced its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

On Clause 1,

Julie Dabrusin moved, — That Bill C-311, in Clause 1, be amended by deleting lines 11 to 16 on page 1.

After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Julie Dabrusin and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 2.

Clause 1, as amended, carried on the following recorded division: YEAS: Pierre Breton, Julie Dabrusin, Pierre Nantel, Seamus O'Regan, Darrell Samson, Dan Vandal — 6; NAYS: John Brassard, Kevin Waugh — 2.

Clause 2 was negatived by a show of hands: YEAS: 1; NAYS: 5.

The Title carried.

The Bill, as amended, carried on the following recorded division: YEAS: Pierre Breton, Julie Dabrusin, Pierre Nantel, Seamus O'Regan, Darrell Samson, Dan Vandal — 6; NAYS: John Brassard, Kevin Waugh — 2.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill, as amended, to the House.

ORDERED, — That Bill C-311, as amended, be reprinted for the use of the House at report stage.

At 4:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:05 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $3,500.00, for the study on Bill C-311, An Act to amend the Holidays Act (Remembrance Day) be adopted.

At 4:06 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the media and local communities.

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
