The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met in camera at 8:49 a.m. this day, in Room 228, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Marie-Claude Morin, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Stella Ambler, Niki Ashton, Jay Aspin, Anne-Marie Day, Sana Hassainia, Roxanne James, Marie-Claude Morin, Tilly O'Neill Gordon, Hon. Judy Sgro, Susan Truppe and Wai Young.

 

Acting Members present: Greg Kerr for Joyce Bateman.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Havi Echenberg, Analyst; Laura Munn-Rivard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of improving economic prospects for Canadian girls.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Improving Economic Prospects for Canadian Girls".

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, the Clerk and Analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting and/or supplementary opinions from members of the opposition parties, immediately after the signature of the Chair, provided that they are no more than 12 pages in length (Arial 12 point font, single line spacing) and be submitted electronically, in one official language, to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 9:32 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
