The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Earl Dreeshen, Pierre Poilievre, Bill Siksay, Michelle Simson, Paul Szabo and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Dean Allison for Bob Dechert, Richard Nadeau for Carole Freeman, Bruce Stanton for Russ Hiebert and Robert Vincent for Ève-Mary Thaï Thi Lac.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Élise Hurtubise-Loranger, Analyst; Alysia Davies, Analyst; Lydia Scratch, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: Jennifer Stoddart, Privacy Commissioner of Canada; Tom Pulcine, Director General and Chief Financial Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2009-2010: Vote 45 under JUSTICE, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
 

Jennifer Stoddart made a statement statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 4:55 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 4:57 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.

 

It was agreed,— That Vote 45 under JUSTICE be adopted.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 45, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, under JUSTICE to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 9, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the Privacy Act Reform.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:41 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
