The Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Paul Szabo, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Bob Dechert, Earl Dreeshen, Russ Hiebert, Pierre Poilievre, Bill Siksay, Michelle Simson, Paul Szabo, Ève-Mary Thaï Thi Lac and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Paule Brunelle for Carole Freeman.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alysia Davies, Analyst; Lydia Scratch, Analyst; Élise Hurtubise-Loranger, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Information Commissioner of Canada: Robert Marleau, Information Commissioner; Suzanne Legault, Assistant Commissioner.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2009-2010: Vote 40 under JUSTICE, referred to the Committee on Thursday, February 26, 2009.
 

Robert Marleau made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 4:54 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:55 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That Vote 40 under JUSTICE be adopted.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 40, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, under JUSTICE to the House.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, February 9, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the Privacy Act Reform.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
