The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:29 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Bob Mills, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. John Godfrey, Luc Harvey, Marcel Lussier, Bob Mills, Pablo Rodriguez, Mario Silva, Maurice Vellacott, Mark Warawa and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Christian Ouellet for Bernard Bigras.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Sam Banks, Analyst; Tim Williams, Analyst. House of Commons: Justin Vaive, Committee Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Allergy and Environmental Health Association of Quebec: Michel Gaudet. Canadian Environmental Law Association: Kathleen Cooper, Researcher. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act - Assessment of Substances: Vulnerable Populations and Ecosystems.
 

Michel Gaudet, Kathleen Cooper, Inka Milewski, Donald Spady, Daniel Krewski, Michelle Turner, Michael Tyshenko, Roger Keefe and Aaron Freeman made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
