The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met in camera at 3:37 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Hon. Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. David A. Anderson, Colleen Beaumier, Roger Clavet, Meili Faille, Art Hanger, Rahim Jaffer, Bill Siksay and Hon. Andrew Telegdi.

 

Acting Members present: Derek Lee for Hon. Hedy Fry, Rob Moore for Diane Ablonczy and Lloyd St. Amand for Lui Temelkovski.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Citizenship and Immigration: Michel Dupuis, Deputy Director, Discretionary Policies and Social Programs, Selection Branch; Dick Graham, Acting Director, Asylum, Refugees Branch; Mary-Ann Hubers, Policy Analyst, Family Class, Selection Branch; Daniel Jean, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy and Program Development.

 

The Committee received two notices of motion concerning the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2005-2006.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair not report the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2005-2006 until the two notices of motion are disposed of at the next sitting of the Committee..

 

It was agreed, — That the debate from the start of this meeting until 3:58 p.m., be made public and be published..

 

At 3:58 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Family Reunification Issues.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

The witnesses answered questions.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
