MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 16

Wednesday, June 4, 2003

The Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present:   Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Norman Doyle, Reed Elley.

Acting Member present:   Roger Gallaway for Tony Tirabassi.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: William Young, Kevin Kerr and Megan Furi, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee resumed its study of Canada Pension Plan Disability. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Wednesday November 20, 2002, Meeting no. 1).

The Subcommittee proceeded to study its draft report on the Canada Pension Plan Disability.

It was agreed—That the draft report, as amended, be adopted as the First Report of the Subcommittee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

It was agreed— That the Chair be authorized to make such editorial and typographical changes as necessary without changing the substance of the Report.

It was agreed That the Chair be authorized to present the Report to the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

It was agreed— That the report be entitled “Listening to Canadians: A view of the future of the Canada Pension Plan (Disability) program

At 4:53 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
