The Subcommittee on Electoral Boundaries Readjustment of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 9:42 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Paddy Torsney, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present:  Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Marcel Proulx, Scott Reid and Paddy Torsney.

In attendance:  From the Library of Parliament:  John Wright and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officers.

Witnesses:  From the House of Commons:  Paul Crête, Kamouraska—Rivière-du-Loup—Témiscouata—Les Basques; Odina Desrochers, Lotbinière—L'Érable; Serge Marcil, Beauharnois—Salaberry.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on Thursday, November 7, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed consideration of the matter of the objections to the report of the electoral boundaries commission for Québec.

Paul Crête made a statement and answered questions.

Odina Desrochers made a statement and answered questions.

At 9:56 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:16 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Serge Marcil made a statement and answered questions.

At 10:34 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:49 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference adopted by the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs on Thursday, November 7, 2002, the Subcommittee resumed consideration of the matter of the objections to the reports of the electoral boundaries commission for British Columbia.

The Subcommittee resumed consideration of a draft report concerning the objections to the Commission’s report for British Columbia.

At 11:03 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:10 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 11:17 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
