The
Standing Committee on Official Languages met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room
112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Mauril Bélanger, presiding.
Members of the Committee
present: Mauril
Bélanger, Eugène Bellemare, Yvon Godin, Jason Kenney and Benoît Sauvageau.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the
Library of Parliament: Marion Ménard, analyst.
Witnesses: From the Canada Post
Corporation: Hon. André Ouellet, President and Chief Executive Officer;
Jean-Maurice Filion, Director, Linguistic Services; Robert A. Gauthier,
Manager, Official Languages.
Pursuant to Standing Order
108(3)(d), a briefing session on the services offered by Canada Post in
both official languages and on their achievements in relation to Part VII of
the Official Languages Act.
The Hon. André Ouellet made
a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:25 p.m., the Committee
adjourned to the call of the Chair.
