The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 1:05 p.m. this day, at Pier 21 Society, Halifax, Nova Scotia, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Scott Brison, Roy Cullen, Nick Discepola, The Hon. Maria Minna, Shawn Murphy, Pierre Paquette, Charlie Penson, Gary Pillitteri, Tony Valeri, Bryon Wilfert.
Acting Member present: Alexa McDonough for The Hon. Lorne Nystrom.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal Analyst, Blayne Haggart, Research Officers.
Appearing: From the House of Commons: The Hon. John Manley, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.
Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1), the Committee continued its pre-budget discussions: Economic and Fiscal Update of the Minister of Finance.
The Minister made a statement and answered questions.
At 3:15 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
