The Standing Committee on Transport and Government Operations met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Ovid Jackson, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Cannis, Bev Desjarlais, Jim Gouk, André Harvey, Ovid Jackson, Marcel Proulx, Alex Shepherd, Paul Szabo.
Associate Member present: Lynne Yelich.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Industrial Transportation Association: Lisa McGillivray, President. From the Transport 2000 Canada: Bert Titcomb, Secretary.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on Truckers Hours of Service, safety concerns and transborder/border crossing issues, and their impact on the Canadian trucking industry.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
At 12:30 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 12:32 a.m., the sitting resumed.
The Committee proceeded to sit, in camera, to consider its Future Business.
At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
