The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met jointly with the Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities at 3:27 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Co-Chairs, Carolyn Bennett and John Godfrey, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Wendy Lill, Janko Peric and Tony Tirabassi.
Acting Member present: Paul Crête pour Robert Lanctôt.
Other Members present: Roy Bailey, John Godfrey, Monique Guay, Anita Neville and Alan Tonks.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie MacKenzie and Bill Young, researchers. From Committees and Parliamentary Associations Directorate: Paul Cardegna.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Association for Community Living: Diane Richler, Executive Vice-President. From the Family Link: Jo Dickey, Board Member. From the Halifax Association for Community Living: Barb Horner, Family Support Facilitator, Family Support Program. From the Hamilton Family Network: Michael Burke-Gaffney, Board Member. From the Hull Association for Community Living: Lucie Charron, Board Member. From the Saskatchewan Family Network: Gloria Mahussier, Board Member.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) Study of the matters relating to the proposing, promoting, monitoring and assessing of initiatives aimed at the integration and equality of disabled persons in all sectors of Canadian Society: Round table on family supports.
The witnesses each made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:08 P.M. the meeting was suspended.
At 5:14 P.M. the meeting was resumed.
The Sub-Committee proceeded to sit in camera.
At 5:40 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
