The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Rick Borotsik, Pierre Brien, Marlene Catterall, Michel Guimond, Joe Jordan, Carolyn Parrish, Geoff Regan, John Richardson and Jacques Saada.
Acting Members present: Ted White for Dale Johnston; Cheryl Gallant for John Reynolds; Stéphane Bergeron for Michel Guimond from 11:46 a.m.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer: Jean-Pierre Kingsley, Chief Electoral Officer; Janice Vézina, Senior Director, Elections Financing and Corporate Services.
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee proceeded to the consideration of the Main Estimates for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2003 - Vote 30 under PRIVY COUNCIL (Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Canada) referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 28, 2002.
Jean-Pierre Kingsley made a statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.
At 12:44 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
