The Standing Committee on Transport met in a televised session at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Stan Keyes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Murray Calder, Bill Casey, Stan Dromisky, Claude Drouin, Michel Guimond, Charles Hubbard, Ovid Jackson, Dale Johnston, Stan Keyes, Val Meredith, Lou Sekora.
Acting Member: Carolyn Parrish for Joe Fontana.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.
Witnesses: From the Tourism Industry Association of Canada: Adam Belyea, Vice-President, Policy and Government Affairs; Gordon Stewart, Past Vice-Chair. From the Association of Canadian Travel Agents: Ron Pradinuk, Chair; Randall Williams, President. From the Federation of Canadian Municipalities: Sam Synard, President; Joseph P. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the future of the airline industry in Canada.
Randall Williams, Ron Pradinuk and Adam Belyea made opening statements and, with Gordon Stewart, answered questions.
