Monday, November 22, 1999
The Standing Committee on Transport met in a televised session at 6:05 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Stan Keyes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Murray Calder, Joe Comuzzi, Bev Desjarlais, Stan Dromisky, Michel Guimond, Ovid Jackson, Stan Keyes.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; Researcher.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Association of Airline Passengers: Michael Murphy, Chairman, Air Passenger Safety Group; Michael Janigan, Executive Director, Public Interest Advocacy Centre; Harry Gow, President, Transport 2000 Canada.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the future of the airline industry in Canada.
Michael Janigan, Michael Murphy and Harry Gow made opening statements and answered questions.
At 7:17 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting was suspended.
At 7:23 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting resumed in camera with no recording.
At 7:50 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
