Meeting No. 37

Tuesday, May 9, 2000

The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met at 3:28 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Charles L. Caccia, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Charles L. Caccia, Marlene Catterall, David Chatters, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Joe Jordan and Paddy Torsney.

Also present: Mira Spivak, Senator.

Witnesses: From the United Kingdom House of Commons Committee on Environmental Audit: John Horam, Chair; Helen Brinton; Neil Gerrard; Dominic Grieve; Jon Owen Jones; Paul Keetch; Tim Loughton; Christine Russell; Malcolm Savidge; Jonathan Shaw; Simon Thomas; Joan Walley.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee met with the United Kingdom House of Commons Committee on Environmental Audit.

The Chair and John Horam made opening statements.

The Members and witnesses discussed issues of mutual concern.

At 4:52 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
