The Clerk of the Committee: Honourable members, we have a quorum. In accordance with Standing Orders 106(1) and 106(2), our first item of business is the election of a chairman. I am ready to receive motions to that effect.

Mr. Ivan Grose (Oshawa, Lib.): Mr. Chair, I would like to place in nomination the name of Mr. John O'Reilly, Esquire.

The Clerk: I declare Mr. O'Reilly duly elected chair of the committee and invite him to take the chair.

The Chair (Mr. John O'Reilly (Haliburton—Victoria—Brock, Lib.)): Thank you very much, colleagues, for the honour of being chair of this committee. I think we've all gone through a lot together.

We'll now get on with the rest of the business, and that is the election of the two vice-chairs, one from the opposition and one from the government. Madam Parrish.

Ms. Carolyn Parrish (Mississauga Centre, Lib.): I'd like to nominate Nancy Karetak-Lindell for vice-chair.
