Thursday, April 22, 1999

The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:22 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Mark Muise, The Hon. Andy Scott.

Acting Members present: Peter Mancini for Wendy Lill, Roy Bailey for Deborah Grey and Bryon Wilfert for Judi Longfield.

Other Member present: Beth Phinney.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Sandra Harder and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Appearing: From the Revenue Canada: The Hon. Herb Dhaliwal, Minister of National Revenue; From the Department of Health: The Hon. Allan Rock, Minister of Health.

Witness: From the Revenue Canada: Maureen Tapp, Director, Special Programs and Partnerships.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) study of matters relating to the proposing, promoting, monitoring and assessing of initiatives aimed at the integration and equality of disabled persons in all sectors of Canadian Society

The Hon. Herb Dhaliwal made a statement and, with Maureen Tapp, answered questions.

The Hon. Allan Rock made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:05 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
