The committee resumed consideration of the motion of René Villemure, — That the committee call upon the government to suspend the cellular data tender upon adoption of this motion until it reports its findings and recommendations to the House, and that the committee report the adoption of this motion to the House at the earliest opportunity.
The debate continued.
Greg Fergus moved, — That the motion be amended by:
(a) by adding before the words “cellular data tender” the following: “the Public Health Agency of Canada's”; and
(b) by replacing the words “until it reports its findings and recommendations to the House” with the words “, and that the tender shall not be re-offered until it the Committee reports to the House that it is satisfied that the privacy of Canadians will not be unduly affected,”.
Debate arose thereon.

René Villemure moved, — That the amendment be amended by deleting the word “unduly”.
After debate, the question was put on the subamendment of René Villemure and it was agreed to.

The motion adopted, as amended, read as follows:
That the committee call upon the government to suspend the Public Health Agency of Canada's cellular data tender upon adoption of this motion, and that the tender shall not be re-offered until it the committee reports to the House that it is satisfied that the privacy of Canadians will not be affected, and that the committee report the adoption of this motion to the House at the earliest opportunity.
Greg Fergus moved, — That, the following regularly scheduled meetings of the committee be programmed as follows:
1. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h), the committee conduct the study proposed by Mr. Brassard and adopted on the Public Health Agency of Canada collecting, using or possessing Canadians' private cellphone data, that the committee make recommendations; and that the committee report its findings to the House no later than April 16, 2022;
2. That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h)(vii), the committee conduct the study proposed by Mr. Green and adopted to study the use or possible use of facial recognition technology by various levels of government in Canada, law enforcement agencies, private corporations and individuals; that the committee make recommendations; and that the committee report its findings to the House no later than May 28, 2022; and
3. That the committee invite the four Officers of Parliament who report to this committee for no fewer than two hours each to present their work to the committee and to review the Estimates no later than June 17, 2022. .
