The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:55 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Jean Augustine, Colleen Beaumier, Maud Debien, Bill Graham, Francine Lalonde, Diane Marleau, Ted McWhinney, Deepak Obhrai, Denis Paradis, Bernard Patry, Svend Robinson, Bob Speller.
Acting Member present: Pauline Picard for Yves Rocheleau.
Other Member present: Irwin Cotler.
From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Gerald Schmitz, James Lee and Daniel Dupras, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade: Jim Wright, Director General for Central East and South Europe. From the Department of National Defence: Lt-Gen Raymond R. Henault, Deputy Chief of Defence Staff. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee commenced its examination of the conflict and post-conflict periods in Kosovo.
Jim Wright, Lt-Gen. Raymond Henault and Stephen Wallace each made an opening statement.
At 10:38 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:24 a.m., the sitting resumed.
