Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of science at the Department of Fisheries and Oceans.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Bob Zimmer moved, — That the committee request the Parliamentary Budget Officer prepare research and comparative analysis on the Estimates for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans beginning at least as early as 2015-16 to 2022-23; and that the committee request that this research and analysis be submitted to the committee within 60 days following the adoption of this motion.

Debate arose thereon.

Lisa Marie Barron moved, — That the motion be amended by replacing the words “2015-16” with the words “2011-12”.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That the committee request the Parliamentary Budget Officer prepare research and comparative analysis on the Estimates for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans beginning at least as early as 2011-12 to 2022-23; and that the committee request that this research and analysis be submitted to the committee within 60 days following the adoption of this motion.
