Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of application backlogs and processing times.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the ninth report of the Auditor General of Canada to the Parliament of Canada, titled Processing Applications for Permanent Residence – Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada, and pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship to appear before the committee for one hour and officials from Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada to subsequently appear before the committee for one hour, for a total of two hours.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship for one hour, and departmental officials for one hour, to update the committee on the 2023 Annual Report to Parliament on Immigration once it is tabled in the House.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee invite the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to appear for one hour with officials, and invite departmental officials along with officials from the Immigration and Refugee Board to appear for one hour, on the Supplementary Estimates (B) for the fiscal year 2023-24 after they are tabled in the House of Commons, and that they appear before the end of the current supply period.

At 5:15 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
