Minutes of Proceedings
By unanimous consent, it was agreed, — That the committee members undertake a trauma sensitivity training as part of the study on the Experience of Women Veterans.
Alice Aiken, Nicole Langlois and Brigitte Laverdure made statements and answered questions.
Luc Desilets moved, — That, after hearing from the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Hon. Pascale St-Onge, regarding the controversy surrounding the competition and awarding of the contract for the design of the National Monument to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan, the Committee invite representatives from Daoust and from Leger to appear at a subsequent meeting for one hour each.
Debate arose thereon.
By unanimous consent, on motion of Sean Casey, it was agreed, — That the motion be amended by replacing the word “each” after hour with the word “together”.
The motion, as amended, read as follows:
That, after hearing from the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Hon. Pascale St-Onge, regarding the controversy surrounding the competition and awarding of the contract for the design of the National Monument to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan, the Committee invite representatives from Daoust and from Leger to appear at a subsequent meeting for one hour together.
By unanimous consent, after debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.
At 5:43 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
