Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the national strategy for Veterans employment after service.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Hon. Ginette Petitpas Taylor, and the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Hon. Pascal St-Onge, to appear before the Committee for at least two hours, by no later than Thursday, November 9, 2023, to answer questions about the government’s handling of the controversy surrounding the competition and awarding of the contract for the design of the National Memorial to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan, and that this appearance by the Minister of Veterans Affairs, Hon. Ginette Petipas-Taylor, occur separately from the appearance previously requested by the committee in its motion passed on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the national strategy for Veterans employment after service.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 6:45 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
