The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Third Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your subcommittee met on Monday, February 1, 2021, to consider the business of the committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the committee direct the committee clerk to invite the following additional witnesses on its prorogation study:

  • Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau
  • Hon. Chrystia Freeland
  • Hon. Bardish Chagger
  • Hon. Bill Morneau
  • Katie Telford
  • Ian Shugart
  • Ian McCowan
  • Craig Kielburger
  • Marc Kielburger
  • Farah Perelmuter
  • Martin Perelmuter

2. That these witnesses be invited to appear on dates following the February 18 committee meeting (the last meeting for which witnesses are currently confirmed — February 16: Pablo Rodriguez, and February 18: Dr. Duane Bratt and Professor Patrick Taillon).

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(vi) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the conduct of a federal election during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 1:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
