Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 27, 2020, the committee commenced its review of the Red Tape Reduction Act.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 10:15 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:18 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the committee’s review of the Red Tape Reduction Act, Members submit their witness lists to the clerk of the committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the committee’s study of defence procurement with a focus on shipbuilding, Members submit their witness lists to the clerk of the committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

It was agreed, — That, in the context of the committee’s study of hiring of veterans for public service positions, Members submit their witness lists to the clerk of the committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, February 27, 2020, the committee commenced its study of the hiring process in the public service.

It was agreed, — That the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the 1st Session of the 42nd Parliament as part of its study of the hiring process in the public service be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session; that the committee adopt the report entitled “Improving the Federal Public Service Hiring Process” adopted during the 1st Session of the 42nd Parliament; that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request the government to table a comprehensive response to the report; and that dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, not later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

It was agreed, — That the evidence and documentation received by the committee during the 1st Session of the 42nd Parliament as part of its study of the Greening of Government Strategy be taken into consideration by the committee in the current session; that the committee adopt the report entitled “An Even Greener Government: Improving the Greening Government Strategy to Maximize its Impact” adopted during the 1st Session of the 42nd Parliament; that, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the committee request the government to table a comprehensive response to the report; and that dissenting or supplementary opinions be in Calibri 12-point font, left aligned, single-spaced, and be submitted electronically, in both official languages, to the clerk of the committee, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.

At 10:45 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
