Minutes of Proceedings
It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $79, 300 for the study of Bill C-4, An Act to implement the Agreement between Canada, the United States of America and the United Mexican States, be adopted.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee study ongoing and future efforts to reform the World Trade Organization, in collaboration with like-minded trading partners and countries, including the Ottawa Group, in the face of challenges to the existing rules-based international order.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study of the environmental impact of international trade, including how trade agreements could be used to reduce the environmental impact of international trade and reduce global greenhouse gas emissions; and that the committee report its findings to the House.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on the future of trade relations between Canada and the United Kingdom; and that the committee report its findings to the House.
It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the committee undertake a study on Australia’s WTO challenge to Canada’s excise exemption for Canadian wine; that the committee invite the Minister to inform the committee about the actions the government has taken to negotiate a settlement; that the committee invite stakeholders from the Canadian wine industry to inform the committee about the potential impacts this case has to their sector; that the meeting with the Minister be televised; and that the committee report back to the House of Commons.
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the clerk of the committee presided over the election of the vice-chairs.
It was agreed, — That Randy Hoback be elected First Vice-Chair of the committee.
It was agreed, — That Simon-Pierre Savard-Tremblay be elected Second Vice-Chair of the committee .
At 4:08 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
