     Honourable members of the subcommittee, I see a quorum.

     I must inform members that as clerk of the subcommittee, I can only receive motions for the election of the chair. The clerk cannot receive other types of motions, entertain points of order or participate in debate.

[Translation]

    We can now proceed to the election of the chair.
    Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Health on October 4, 2018, the chair of the subcommittee must be a member of the government party.

    I'm ready to receive motions for the election of the chair.
    Mr. Eyolfson.
     I'd like to nominate Peter Fonseca as chair.
    It has been moved by Mr. Eyolfson that Mr. Fonseca be elected chair of the subcommittee.
    Any further motions?
    Seeing none, is it the pleasure of the subcommittee to adopt this motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
     We will now elect our vice-chairs. If the subcommittee is in agreement, I invite the clerk to proceed with the election of the vice-chairs.
    I'm now prepared to receive motions for the first vice-chair.
    Mr. Nuttall.
     I'd like to nominate Robert Kitchen as vice-chair of the subcommittee.
    It has been moved by Mr. Nuttall that Mr. Kitchen be elected vice-chair of the subcommittee.
    Is it the pleasure of the subcommittee to adopt the motion?
    (Motion agreed to)
     I am now prepared to receive motions for the election of the second vice-chair.
     I nominate Cheryl Hardcastle.
    It has been moved by Ms. Fortier that Ms. Hardcastle be elected second vice-chair.
    Is it the pleasure of the subcommittee to adopt the motion?

    If the subcommittee is in agreement, we'll move to routine motions.
    I move that we adopt the routine motions of the health committee, with the exception of the paragraph regarding the subcommittee on agenda and procedure.

    If it's okay with everybody, and if the subcommittee is in agreement, we will suspend this meeting for a few minutes to go in camera, and discuss the organization of the work of the subcommittee.
