Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(iii), the Committee resumed its study of parallel debating chambers.

Bruce Stanton made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:09 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(i), the Committee commenced its study of the Centre Block rehabilitation project.

Michel Patrice made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Chair write to the Hon. Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Public Services and Procurement, regarding the potential removal of an elm tree on Parliament Hill.

It was agreed, — That the Committee hold a meeting as soon as possible to consider the potential removal of an elm tree on Parliament Hill; and that representatives of Greenspace Alliance of Canada's Capital and Public Services and Procurement Canada be invited to appear.

It was agreed, — That the Minister of Democratic Institutions be invited to appear on Thursday, April 11, 2019, in relation to the governments's plan to safeguard the 2019 election and the Security and Intelligence Threats to Elections Task Force.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of parallel debating chambers, the Clerk of the House and representatives of the Samara Centre for Democracy be invited to appear.

At 1:08 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
