The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, relative to the study of the Roadmap and immigration in francophone minority communities, the following questions be sent to a list of witnesses selected by the Committee members;

1. In your opinion, what were the positives and the challenges of the Roadmap 2008–2013 and the Roadmap 2013–2018?

2. What are your priorities (or those of the organization you represent) for the development of official language minority communities (OLMC) and the promotion of official languages?

• How could the next multi year action plan for official languages meet your needs?

3. Immigration is one way to ensure the vitality of OLMC, and the Government of Canada has programs and tools to support immigration in OLMC, particularly Francophone immigration in Francophone minority communities (FMC).

• How could the existing programs and tools be improved to enable the government to more easily attain its immigration objectives in OLMC?

4. Are you (or your organization) involved in the recruitment, intake and integration of immigrants? Tell us about the challenges you face.

5. The Committee is interested in the experience of refugees, particularly refugees who have been welcomed by OLMC.

• Which federal programs and tools have been made available to individuals and host communities to facilitate refugee integration?

• What were the weaknesses?

• How could the Government of Canada improve the ability of OLMC to intake and integrate refugees?.
