Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, February 7, 2017, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-36, An Act to amend the Statistics Act.

Francis Lord made a statement and answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $49,904.42, for the Committee’s travel to Washington, D.C., United States of America, in Spring 2017 be adopted and that the Chair present the said budget to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to Bill C-36, An Act to amend the Statistics Act, the Committee meet based on the following calendar: March 21, 23; April 4, 6 and 13, 2017.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to Bill C-36, An Act to amend the Statistics Act, Members of the Committee submit their preliminary lists of witnesses to the Clerk of the Committee by Tuesday, March 7, 2017.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 10, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the manufacturing sector.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 10:37 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
