Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on April 12, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of suicide among Indigenous peoples and communities.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Breaking Point: The Suicide Crisis in Indigenous Communities".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee's website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 after the tabling of the Committee's report to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

At 9:58 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:14 a.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That in relation to the briefing on the Progress of the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, the Commissioners be invited to appear at the Committee's first meeting following the summer adjournment .

It was agreed, — That, in the event that Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Indian Act (elimination of sex-based inequities in registration), is referred to the Committee by the House of Commons, the Committee shall conduct clause-by-clause consideration of the Bill on Thursday, June 15, 2017, for two (2) hours from 8:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

It was agreed, — That, in the event that Bill S-3, An Act to amend the Indian Act (elimination of sex-based inequities in registration), is not yet referred to the Committee by the House of Commons, the Committee shall conduct committee business at the meeting on Thursday, June 15, 2017, for one (1) hour from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

It was agreed, — That provided that the House of Commons has not yet adjourned for the summer, the Committee hold two (2) meetings on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 and Thursday, June 22, 2017 to hear from witnesses in relation to the study of the Subject Matter of Bill C-17, An Act to amend the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act.

It was agreed, — That the workplan in relation to the Subject Matter of Bill C-17, An Act to amend the Yukon Environmental and Socio-economic Assessment Act and to make a consequential amendment to another Act, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 21,900, for the study of Specific Land Claims and Comprehensive Claims, be adopted.

At 10:38 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
