The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

The Chair presented the First Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure. The Report was concurred in and read as follows:

1. That, the motion adopted on Thursday, March 10, 2016, instructing the Committee to study violence against young women and girls in Canada first, followed by a study on gender-based analysis, be rescinded;

2. That, the Committee commence the study on gender-based analysis on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, for five meetings and present its report in the House on Thursday, June 16, 2016, and request a Government response to its report;

3. That, the Committee approve the work plan, as suggested by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure;

4. That, the evidence and documentation received by the Committee from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada on Thursday, February 25, 2016, on the subject of the 2015 Fall Reports of the Auditor General of Canada: Report 1 – Implementing Gender-Based Analysis be taken into consideration by the Committee in the study on gender-based analysis;

5. That the deadline for the receipt of briefs in relation to the study of gender-based analysis be Thursday, May 12, 2016;

6. That the Analyst and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website;

7. That, the Committee resume its study on violence against young women and girls in Canada in September 2016.

At 4:43 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
