The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That Terry Duguid, M.P., be allowed to remain in the room during in camera proceedings.

It was agreed, — That the Seventh Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

  1. That in relation to the Daughters of the Vote event on Thursday, March 9, 2017:

    a. the Committee invite 338 participants of Daughters of the Vote divided in four groups to attend morning and afternoon sittings in room 415 of the Wellington Builidng and that these sittings be televised;

    b. the Committee invite witnesses for the first two panels as part of the study of economic security of women in Canada between 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.;

    c. the Committee invite members of the group to appear as witnesses on the topics of violence against young women and girls in Canada and missing and murdered aboriginal women and girls from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and on participation of women in politics from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.

    2. That in relation to Bill C-309, An Act to establish Gender Equality Week:

    a. the Committee hear Sven Spengemann, M.P., sponsor of the Bill, during the first hour of a Committee meeting; and that the second hour be dedicated to the clause by clause consideration of the Bill.

    3. That in relation to its study of violence against young women and girls in Canada:

    a. the Clerk send the executive summary of the ESSIMU report to translation;

    b. the Clerk distribute the executive summary of the ESSIMU report in both languages and the link to the full report in French to members of the Committee.

    4. That in relation to its study of economic security of women in Canada:

    a. the Clerk distribute the amended work plan to members;

    b. the Committee approve the work plan, as suggested by the Subcommittee;

    c. the Committee receive a first version of the draft report before the summer adjournment.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 39,200, for the study of economic security of women in Canada, be adopted.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of violence against young women and girls in Canada.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 10:09 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit.

At 10:12 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
