The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the Second Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:

Your Subcommittee met on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference after the presentation of the Committee’s report to the House on Implementing Gender-Based Analysis Plus in the Government of Canada; that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

2. That notwithstanding the motion adopted on Thursday April 14, 2016, the Committee resume its study on violence against young women and girls in Canada; and that an additional twelve (12) meetings, composed of two (2) panels each, be dedicated to hear from witnesses.

3. That in relation to its study on violence against young women and girls in Canada:

  1. the analyst prepare a draft work plan, as recommended by the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, to be shared with the Committee;

  2. the first five (5) meetings be dedicated to the examination of cyberviolence against young women and girls followed by three (3) meetings on violence against young women on university and college campuses;

  3. the analyst prepare a summary of the Committee’s substantive study in the 41st Parliament regarding promising practices to prevent violence against women, that may be relevant to the Committee’s current study;

  4. the analyst and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee website.

It was agreed, — That the Third Report from the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure, which read as follows, be concurred in as amended:

Your Subcommittee met on Thursday, June 9, 2016, to consider the business of the Committee and agreed to make the following recommendations:

1. That, notwithstanding the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday April 14, 2016, the Committee’s report on Implementing Gender-Based Analysis Plus in the Government of Canada be presented in the House on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

2. That the deadline for the receipt of briefs in relation to the study of violence against young women and girls in Canada be no later than Friday, September 23, 2016, at 23:59 EDT, and no more than two (2) pages in length (approximately 1,000 words).

At 4:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
