Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Canadian government's countries of focus for bilateral development assistance.

Jamie McIntosh, Santiago Alba-Corral and Carleen McGuinty made statements and, with Rachel Logel Carmichael, answered questions.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Stephen Brown, Lauchlan Munro and François Audet made statements and answered questions.

At 6:23 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 6:25 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

It was agreed, — That the study of the Canadian government’s countries of focus for bilateral development assistance be extended to include meetings in June with the witnesses on the “Proposed Schedule of Meetings” document dated May 16, 2016.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to the motion adopted by the Committee on April 21, 2016, the Committee begin a comprehensive review of Freezing Assets of Corrupt Foreign Officials Act (S.C. 2011, c. 10) and the Special Economics Measures Act (S.C. 1992, c. 17) once the House reconvenes in September 2016.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $10,500.00, for the study of the Canadian government's countries of focus for bilateral development assistance, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to the motion adopted by the Committee on February 23, 2016, the Committee undertake a study of Canada’s Development Financing Initiative in the Fall of 2016.

At 6:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
