Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Tuesday, March 22, 2016 and section 343 of the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed the statutory review of the Act.

Justyna Laurie-Lean, Sherry Sian, by videoconference from Calgary, Alberta, and Andrea Peart made statements and answered questions.

At 12:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:31 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 25, 2016, the Committee resumed its study of the Federal Sustainable Development Act.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

At 1:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 1:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Federal Sustainability for Future Generations".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the analysts and the Clerk, in consultation with the Chair, prepare a news release for publication on the Committee’s website and for distribution upon presentation of the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee make the necessary arrangements for a press conference to be held after the presentation of the Committee's report to the House on Federal Sustainability for Future Generations; and that the Committee be represented by the Chair and a representative from each party.

At 1:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
