Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 and Wednesday, January 31, 2018, the Committee resumed its study of advancements of technology and research in the agriculture industry that can support Canadian exports.

The Committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a report.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of advancements of technology and research in the agriculture industry that can support Canadian exports, each party send their proposed recommendations to the Clerk of the Committee no later than 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2018.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That the news release prepared to promote the Committee’s study of mental health challenges that Canadian farmers, ranchers, and producers face, be adopted, published on the Committee’s Website and sent to the media.

It was agreed, — That the orders pertaining to the rounds of questioning of witnesses, adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, and Thursday, October 5, 2017, be discharged and replaced with the following: That, during their opening statements, witnesses be given ten (10) minutes when there is one witness per panel, seven (7) minutes when there are two (2) witnesses per panel, and six (6) minutes when there are three (3) or more witnesses per panel; and that, during the questioning of witnesses, the time be allocated as follows: for the first round of questioning, six (6) minutes be allocated to each party in the following order: Conservative Party, Liberal Party, New Democratic Party and Liberal Party; and, for the second round of questioning, the time be allocated as follows: Liberal Party six (6) minutes, Conservative Party six (6) minutes, Liberal Party six (6) minutes, Conservative Party five (5) minutes and New Democratic Party three (3) minutes.

At 9:37 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
